Meet our Starfish Staff
Madam Jonathan, Pastor Migueloson, Jeneen Aspden
Madam
Jonathan has a loving husband named Jonathan and two sons, Samuel (12) and
Christopher (7). Both boys attend Cowman School. M’ Jonathan has been working
with Starfish Kids (SFK) for 12 years. She serves full time, five days a week. Her
job is to take photos of the children for sponsorships, order school books, and
train the teachers and staff at the schools. Her prayer for the ministry is for
many people to support the children. She ask for unity in SFK and good
communications with pastors, churches, and schools.

Migueloson, says, “I have a beautiful family of six. Yousman, 22; Miguel, 10; Abigail,
9; Lydia, 7; and his wife, Odiane.
Pastor
Migueloson is the pastor of Institution Grace en Sion, Cite Du Peuple #1. The
school has 236 students. His wife, Odiane also serves at the church and school.
Grace Church in Pennsylvania partners with Grace en Sion. OMS missionaries Kate
Zlotnicki and Janeen Aspden are members of the church as well.
Pastor
M. started working with OMS in November 1999. He learned about OMS while he was
a student of medicine. He started visiting a church that had a pastor that
studied with him. This pastor challenged Pastor M. to do more for God.
One
night Pastor M. had two dreams. In the first dream, a spirit tried to cover
him. When he awoke, he cried out because it was a bad spirit. In the second
dream, the same spirit tried to cover him. He used Psalm 23 to fight off the
spirit. He realized in the first dream, he was fighting in his own strength. The
second time the spirit came, it was by God’s power and Scripture that he was
victorious over it.
He
knew if he continued to study medicine, it would be by his own strength, but if
he changed his studies to theology, it would be by God’s.
After
his dream, he tried to go to Emmaus Biblical Seminary, but it was difficult
with no money.
He
had wanted to be a doctor, not a pastor. He started to walk to school because
he didn’t have money for tap tap. A stranger gave him 250 gds, so he knew he
had to walk by faith. He took the test for EBS, and he scored very high and was
able to attend. He started working with ECC planting churches. He finished his
work with ECC in March. In July 2000, he started working with Starfish Kids.
Pastor
M. now works with SFK three days a week and continues his ministry at Grace en
Sion.
His
dream for SFK is to have all students that graduate 2nd level schools
come to work at a church. Most importantly,
that they come to know Jesus.
For more information on Janeen, see the January 25, 2018 blog.
Our SFK ministry would love for you to come and enjoy a Vacation Bible School (VBS) with one of our schools. Here are some photos from the latest VBS.
Please
cover the SFK ministry in your prayers and ask God to see if he is calling you
into a partnership with one of our students. If you feel led to join us, please
consider the gift of a Christian education to a Haitian child today. Go to https://onemissionsociety.org/give/starfish-kids for more information
and to give.
