January's Missionary Spotlight - Meet Janeen Aspden Janeen Aspden serves with One Mission Society in Haiti as the in-country administrator for Starfish Kids.  Starfish Kids is a child evangelization through education ministry that shares the Gospel with children while providing school sponsorships.  The program is currently partnering with 31 schools in northern Haiti through the Emmaus Fellowship of Churches.  Janeen is working directly with Haitian nationals, training, educating, and giving guidance.   She visits each school, takes photos of children in need of sponsorships, and helps the staff improve communications between sponsors and students.   God planted a seed in Janeen at an early age, as she was raised by her Christian family in Pennsylvania.   As she grew, she enjoyed serving in different ministries but never felt like she was exactly where God wanted her to be.   That was until God clearly spoke into her heart during a shor...

12/28/2017 This Christmas, One Mission Society (OMS) – Haiti received a special gift of having the Michel family (Storly, Kate, Hannah, and Esther) celebrate Christmas here at the OMS field compound.   Rev. Storly is the director of Radio 4VEH, and Kate is the director of fundraising, marketing , and communications.   The Michels live in Columbus, Indiana, about 30 miles from OMS headquarters in Greenwood, Indiana, and they travel to Haiti several times a year. Storly and Kate met while living in England while attending Oxford Centre form Mission Studies in 2002.   They married in 2004.   Storly began his ministry with Radio 4VEH in 1996, Kate joined the OMS family in 2008.   Https://onemissionsociety.org/give/TheMichels Rev. New Physical Therapy Center at Bethesda Medical Center - Haiti Bill and Julie Edler, missionaries with One Mission Society, moved to Haiti in 2016 full time. Bill serves at Emmaus Biblical Seminary. Emmaus teaches, equips, and empowers the future leaders of the Haitian church. Julie, in addition to taking care of their two small children, works part-time as a physical therapist at Bethesda Medical Center (BMC). Julie grew up in Bangor, Northern Ireland, and Bill is from Youngstown, Alberta, Canada. They met while serving with OMS in 2010 and were married in 2011. Julie arrived in Haiti in 2014 and worked with Dr. Rodney Baptiste for one year at Bethesda. BMC is a ministry of One Mission Society. Haiti has a weak healthcare structure, with roughly 40 percent of the population lacking access to essential healthcare. Bethesda exists to provide this essential care.
